Anti Inflammatory Kale Smoothie (VEGAN/VEGETARIAN/LOW CARBOHYDRATE)

BENEFITS :: This anti- inflammatory GREEN smoothie is nut-free, dairy free, potential allergen free, makes for a suitable post workout, not overloading you on fruit sugars (fructose) but providing you with your daily dose of Omega 3 fats, Vitamin - K, C and ample fibre. Use it as a post workout replenishment or make it your morning breakfast to boost metabolism by lowering inflammation.

 

Choose all organic ingredients if possible***

 

1 handful Baby Kale or mixed greens (2 cups)

2 small/medium strawberries

1/2 banana (choose semi yellow -green can be a good pre-biotic)

1/2 cup spring water

1 large scoop Vegan Protein Powder (I use Organic Garden Life Unflavoured Vegan Protein)

 

Blend all of the above ingredients, add some more water to suit your choice of consistency. Add 2-3 tbsp Chia Seeds (Carbohydrate 12 grams of which Fibre 11 grams, Fat 12 grams, Protein 5 grams) to your smoothie and get aside for 5 minutes until they swell up.

Add ons :: CACAO NIBS (super foods for fat and fibre), walnuts, unsweetened coconut flakes, Almond butter or Hemp butter
